Cash For Trash - A new idea for a Club service project: Paddle up the Ka'elepulu Stream to Enchanted Lakes, picking up trash on the way back - different categories of trash win different cash prizes (categories will be announced by Gary).
Park whereever you can (the parks fill up by 9), meet in the stream "lagoon" next to the ocean, just mauka of the sandbar, at 9:00 AM.

E-Z Glider to the Mokes & Super Bowl Sunday Surfing Clinic - Meet at the Kailua Beach Boat Ramp for an 8:00 AM launch and head out to the Mokulua Islands. Surfing not required, but those so inclined will get basic surf instruction and then practice with other experienced kayak surfers. If you are more adventurous, join Rusty on a paddle (weather permitting) out to the NOAA wave buoy (another 2 miles off-shore). Everyone meets back on the Mokes for lunch. If you don't have a good surf boat, contact the leaders in advance about borrowing one. Bring picnic snacks for lunch on the sand beach. No TVs or radios allowed! You can leave at noon-ish if ya just gotta get back for the 1:15 kickoff.

Basic kayaking skills will be taught including kayak safety checklists, kayak survival skills, paddling techniques, and capsize recovery. Kayakers of all skill levels invited to learn, sharpen or share their kayaking skills. Bring your own kayak, paddle, shoes or tabis, and life vest. Directions: if you’re coming from the Hale’iwa direction, go past Sunset Beach. You’ll see the UH Ag Station makai, and Crawford’s Home on the mauka side, and then the next time you see the ocean you are there. Similarly, if you’re coming past Turtle Bay Resort and you see Crawford’s on your left, turn around and go back until you see the ocean again. Sun 14	Windbag Regatta - Maunalua Bay Boat ramp (Hawaii Kai) to Wai'alae Beach Park in Kāhala by any wind-driven means - sails, kites, umbrellas, bedsheets on sticks, old raincoats, whatever. Carpool leaves Maunalua Bay Beach Park at 8:30 AM. Race will begin at 11:00, or when the Race Director determines there is enough wind. Sun 25	EZ Glider: Kaiaka Bay and Adjacent Streams - (Paukauila and Ki`iki`i Streams - Meet at "Mushroom Rock" in Kaiaka State Park (in Waialua) at 9:30 for a 10:00 am launch. Kayakers can paddle lazily on calm water in a historic agricultural district. The more adventurous can push upstream through grass overgrowth to seldom-visited stretches replete with sugar-plantation ruins and relics. - 4 mi. Sun 2	Coconut Island: the launch is from He'eia Kea State Park Ocean Activity Center at 8:30 AM to reach the target beach by 9:15. A tour of the HIMB facilities , shark tanks, fish ponds, etc. ensues, ending with a BYO lunch at "Maile's Point", some snorkeling, and a leisurely downwind paddle home. There will be a $10 per-person 'donation' to the HIMB docent program. Call or email Kevin to put your name on the list, as there is a max number of visitors they can handle... - 3.5 mi R.T. - Directions to launch spot: Turn into the He'eia State Park (NOT the He'eia Kea State Boat Harbor). Just inside the first gate, on the right, is a sign on a telephone pole that says "Company Vehicles Only". Turn right down the unimproved road to the bottom. Be careful where you park, as there are some muddy spots, and we don't want to trash the grass. If parking gets crowded, you can unload your boat, then drive back up the hill and across the drive to the visitor parking, or turn right and park in the main lot under the big tree.
